EASTER MRVÁŇ FROM LIESKOVEC NEAR ZVOLEN Last year's Easter I spent in Slovakia and while visiting parents of my friend Norika Gaskova I have learned of an old Lieskovec tradition mrvan pastry for Easter. Norika's mom told me that when she was a little girl she remembers taking Mrvans on Easter Sunday and going to fields with friends and they used to roll them down the seeded fields and eating them after play, even they did get dirty they still tasted delicious. I had tried the Mrvan on Easter Sunday with smoked ham, boiled eggs and potato salad, all delicious. Zuzka Durisek's variation of Mrvan For Mrvan you will need
pre sifted flour, one egg, butter, salt, sugar, milk and yeast.
