Last year the Slovak Army
cartography Institute published "Detailed Auto Atlas of the Slovak
Republic." It is in the scale of 1:100000 and I can tell you it is
FANTASTIC. If you are doing any research of your family history or
planning you next trip this is the tool you will need to succeed. This
atlas has a total of 132 pages full of detailed information and what you
couldn't find on your maps before, you will be able to find in this
detailed atlas. It pretty well has everything in it, including detailed
maps of 28 larger cities, information on all gas stations, including their
times of operation, All the World heritage sites in Slovakia, Open air
Museums-Skanzens, Reservations of folk culture, Castles and Manor houses
museums, Caves open to public, Auto camps, and list of all towns and
villages, including their postal/zip codes. It shows even the tiniest
brooks, hamlet places in the mountains, it is really detailed. For
instance it does have all high voltage power lines shown, even the
mountain trails are included.
