LIPTOVSKÁ TEPLIČKA
Folklore group Teplican was established in
1976 as youth folklore group. In 1978 they amalgamated with women’s
folklore singing group that was performing at different actions for
several years.
At the present time they perform together as Folklore Group TEPLICAN at
different festivals for several years.
TEPLICAN concentrates in arranging and preserving customs and traditions
of village Liptovska Teplicka. In their repertoire they have previews of
wedding, christening, going to army, taking out Morena, erecting May poles,
further they have army, logger and other songs, meadow and Christmas songs,
Christmas carols.
They also have current folk songs
written by few enthusiasts that are able to create new folk songs even today.
TEPLICAN participates in most folklore festivals in Slovakia such as
Vychodna, Detva, Zamagurie folk festival, Telgart, Hrusov, Chrenovec-Brusno
and others.
As the host folk group performs at home
folk festival under Kralova Hola. In February of this year
Teplican participated at exposition in Nuremberg, Germany, where it
presented development of agro tourism in the village.
