POTATO UNDER
LEAF OR POTATO BABA
HARULA OR
PLACERKA
(Potato pan cake)
In the old days they used to bake
potato pancakes on the cabbage leaves in the wood burning stove, that is
why they call it in Turiec
podlistnik (under leaf). Today they bake it on well-greased pan and it
tastes excellent. We grate raw pealed potatoes, add some flour so we get
thicker dough. We add some salt, black pepper, and marjoram, fried onion,
fried bacon with lard. We pour the dough to on a well-greased pan and bake
it in the hot oven to golden color.
