OPEN LETTER FROM MAKSI

I am writing this letter to Vladimir to publish it in the next issue of the Slovak Heritage Live newsletter. You may ask why? Vladimir has been a friend of mine for over 34 years. He has written about my illness and about me in the newsletter on several occasions. As you can see so far I have beaten all predictions and I am still alive 18 months after the doctors diagnosed untreatable Myleodysplasia or in another words also called smothering leukemia in my body. I get regular blood transfusions every four weeks and I also go for a treatment called chelation to reduce iron in my body. Recently I am trying homeopathic treatment to clean my body of toxins and my diet is limited to alkaline forming foods such as chicken and eggs for protein and organically grown vegetables and some fruits. I can use only flax oil, Celtic Sea salt, for sugar I must use Stevia (600 times sweeter than sugar), and instead of vinegar I have to use fresh lemon. The reason for me undertaking this diet was PH balance through my urine test was only 5.5 which indicates that I was too acidic. This diet has already helped me to increase the PH balance to 6 and the proper level for me should be 6.8 to 7. So I am very happy to see some improvements in me after going on this diet. My new diet is astronomically expensive as for instance just the Celtic Sea salt is about fifteen times more expensive than the standard table salt. I don’t care about the costs, my health is most important.

I am now classified as a disabled person and I do receive pension of CAD $610.00 per month and my minimal expenses even with tightening my belt to minimum standards, well exceed that amount.

Since the story that appeared in the Slovak Heritage Live, many of my friends throughout the world have contacted me with letters, well wishing cards, by phone, and now even by email, or made personal visits here at Watch Lake in the Cariboo country of our Beautiful British Columbia. You can't imagine how good it feels to have such support. Since I have no means and time to reply to all of my friends at this time and since most of them are receiving The Slovak Heritage Live Newsletter, I would like to publicly thank them for their moral, spiritual and financial support. Most of all I would like to thank a person who I don't know personally Joy Kovalycsik from Garfield, NJ, USA for her moral, spiritual and financial support. Joy thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers.

I will be 60 years old December 12th and my immediate goal is to welcome the start of the new millennium, which I believe I might do with Gods help.

It was my privilege to know you all and I really can see now that people do care and that the goodness is still around.

Sincerely Yours,

Maksi Dubrovay
